Water leak issues , and dealer issues

I need to find out why it's taking so long for warty parts to get to the dealership, and while the dealer is not getting this camper fixed, it is brand new.

Thought I bought a LUXURY RV but instead was junk!

If you're thinking about buying a Grand Design RVdont.
I trusted this brand, and by extension, Winnebago Industries. I believed I was investing in quality, reliability, and peace of mind.

Instead, my Momentum 397 has been a constant source of frustrationframe flex, upper deck separation, and a manufacturer that refuses to take real responsibility.
The repairs they offer are nothing more than temporary patches. The problems keep coming back. Ive tried escalatingrespectfully, professionallyeven CCing Grand Design CEO Don Clark. They didnt help.

They blocked my emails. And now, theyve blocked me on Facebook toobecause they dont want real customers telling the truth.
This morning, I refused delivery of my camper. Its already on its way back to Indiana. I was explicitly clear: the unit was to return spotless.

Instead, it came back in worse condition than when it left.
Heres the reality:
Paint: More defects than before, especially in the phylon area.
Phylon: Scratched beyond beliefit was flawless before Grand Design touched it.
Cleanliness: Metal drill shavings on the floor, sawdust throughout the unit (even in the rear sink), and someone stood on our mattress with shoes.
TV & Mounting: The main TV was loose during transit, bouncing around and damaging the mount.
Caulking: Sloppy, rushed, and careless. Missing in spots, globbed in others, smeared all over.
Water Intrusion: Water in the front compartment near the batteriesclear negligence.
This is appalling. I trusted Grand Design with my camper, and instead of being repaired to a higher standard, it was returned in a condition thats flat-out insulting. If this is the level of detail on visible items, how can I trust that the actual repairs were done correctly?
Ive taken extensive photos documenting every issue and will be sending them in multiple emails.

At this point, we have a serious problem. I expect a conference call Monday with every responsible partyincluding Don Clark and, if necessary, the CEO of Winnebago. No excuses.
And to top it off, a Grand Design dealer offered me $49,000 on trade for a unit with an MSRP of $185,000. Thats how little they value their own product.
This isnt just my storyits happening to others too.

Grand Design knows it.

Winnebago knows it. But theyre not stepping in.
We deserve better.

28g has not been a good product and getting work done has been a nightmare

At first I was asked to submit photos of roof problem areas ,Which I did Grand designs denied the claim because pictures didnt show the problem well .So I took it to the dealership for the roof and some other issues ,they tech said roof was fine .So after 5 weeks I took it home to find seal tape on the back of unit lifted off of the roof .They tech did not inspect the roof so same day its back to dealer .service advisor takes pictures and submits .Another week goes by and not a word ,so I call grand designs customer service the lady I talked with said wait a minute and then come to find out the warrany request hasn't even been looked at by grand designs. I spent alot of money on this rv and would have expected so much more from grand designs and Bishes Rv .Needless to say I would never recomend a grand designs rv to any one .I understand these units have issues all of the brands but this has been a horrible experience.

I also missed out on the month of September to use this rv . But still had to make the payment .It needs to get repaired and repaired correctly so I can get it home and covered before winter really sets in .do

Have done all maintenance on time and by authorized service dealers. 4 different service techs all said the same that the transition molding was not sealed to the roof leaving a gap.

Hidden slow leak that didnt show damage until it moved away for under the transition and roof got soft.

Showed all invoices of inspections but declined my claim. Show pictures from tech of the sealer under the transition just fell off along with missing screws.

Still having trouble with sewer valve

The valve doesn't open all the way, so the tank doesn't empty totally. One technician told us the cable was too short so it can open all the way.

Terrible camper

Grand Design 31 MB 5th wheel camper. Floor bowed under slide out with sofa in it no water damage.

All because tech said it was cheap particle board instead of plywood used. Keeps eating teeth on slide out because it struggles every time to go in and out! Kept in a shed its whole life except to camp 3 times a year for a 3 day weekend! Skylight cracked because tech said screwed too tight from factory.

Also rubber roof rolling up due to being installed improperly per tech! Im soooo done with this pile of crap and customer service for Grand design is a joke!

No furnace

I have a 2023 ****rl From day one got home the furnace did not work went back to General RV twice 1 1/2 hour drive both times they said it was fixed it did not work the second time I was charged $135 called Grand Design they gave me a salesman. Grand design does not care about there customers. I bought my last Grand Design

Took my GD in for an upgrade, brought it home, and it was never the same again. Had to take it back for work, and it ended up costing $1,700!

On top of that, why do they charge for a diagnostic when the RV is still under warranty? Huge rip-off!

A gentleman returned my call and was very helpful thank you! The only thing I was pissed about is to why I have to text why I am calling. Seems like I do a half a day of administrative work a week which is time consuming.

I have to fill out Dr. forms,do insurance stuff,,give reviews, rate customers all time consuming.

Never buy a 20-24 model.

Had new roof and new back splash and table since laminate was de laminated. GD warranted these things thankfully

I was transferred four times to four different departments. They all knew who I had to go to.

The frame flex department I was told by the first one that section covers all the frame flex. Then they sent me the three others before I finally got to that person.

They were very nice on the phone. Im not holding my breath.

Hub question

the little hub cap keeps going to the inside of the hub, will not stay in place. called to ask if there was something wrong, the service rep.

went over all the options with us and even though we are out of warranty, is sending us a new part to see if that will work and stay in place. if not, then our only other option is to bring to service for them to look for unseen problems.

The 2024 Momentum 395MS brakes went out on the first time out. It was pretty scary to lose the ability to stop something that size.

It's now been 3 weeks and it's still sitting at the dealer's shop with no wheels on it. When I ask why it takes so long to do a brake job, they tell me to call Grand Design. That's basically the door to nowhere.

For something that cost so much money, one would assume they would fix it on the spot. There must be a way to hold these people responsible and get some action.
